Recently, I've ended up with square bits of fabric and card stock leftover from how I make my coptic-stitched journals. I was staring at them long and hard the other night, driving myself mad (as you do), when I thought to try stitching the two together then tossing them onto a gift tag!
Here's the result:

What do you think? I'm pretty pleased with the result, even if my hand-stitching is pretty atrocious, but the roughness and the organic process is what I like about them so much. It's not a new or out of the blue idea, for sure, but I loooooooove using up my little tidbits in useful ways. That makes me very happy. :)
I'd love comments and opinions, since I'm not sure if I'll throw them into the shop or use them as fun little extras in my packages. Also, should I make cards in this style?

Lexa..I think they look fantastic. Why not put them in your shop? It is always good to have a few different pricepoints!
ReplyDeleteSpiffy! Have you considered bookmarks, maybe stitching together a couple of scraps that go well together? I always like to have pretty bookmarks...

ReplyDeleteDri, the bookmarks idea is fantastic! Sadly, it's too late to throw some into your package. :(
Fran, that's a lovely offer. I know how that feels, haha. *goes to check out your blog*
they look great Lexa....& you could do both, offer them for sale & still use them as extras in your packages.
ReplyDeletelove the bookmark idea too, I have a sister who collects them.
Hee hee, no worries. I'm using the tags as bookmarks anyways ;) Whee!
